Support for Local Projects Across East Berwickshire
Funding is available for projects benefiting community council areas across East Berwickshire through the Drone Hill & NnG East Berwickshire Fund. Grants are offered at two levels to support local initiatives and improvements.
- St Abbs, Eyemouth, Burnmouth: Funding of up to £3,000 is available for projects benefiting one or more of these community council areas.
- Reston & Auchencrow, Grantshouse, Co’Path & Cove, Coldingham: Funding of up to £10,000 is available for projects benefiting one or more of these community council areas.

A1 CORRIDOR & TRAFFIC UPDATES
TRAFFIC PORTAL
MANAGING THE SEASONAL SURGE
With the arrival of the summer tourist season, the Community Council is highlighting seasonal challenges along the A1 corridor affecting Grantshouse, Houndwood, and Harelawside.
- Significant Traffic Increase: Residents should anticipate a 30-40% increase in traffic volume on the A1 through our parishes due to summer tourism and seasonal haulage.
- Slow-Moving Vehicles: Exercise additional patience at village junctions as agricultural machinery and harvest transport become more frequent during peak summer months.
- A1 Culvert Progress: Mitigation works continue on critical culverts to the north and south of Grantshouse to resolve historical flooding issues.
- Litter Enforcement: BEAR Scotland has confirmed the installation of monitoring cameras along the A1 corridor to identify and deter illegal littering.
- Pedestrian Footpaths: Ongoing discussions with BEAR regarding verge maintenance and pedestrian protection on the paths connecting our settlements.
