There are a number of projects being carried out on behalf of the Community - all at varying degrees of progress. A brief summary will be given on this page with a link to more details if available.

Community Action Plan -  The Community Action Plan is a key document that actually identifies the majority of the projects to be undertaken on behalf of the community. It provides a solid basis for grant applications and will play an increasing role in    The current plan was produced a few years ago and needs to be updated - click here to see the current plan.

Proposed Village 'HUB' - A feasibility study for a new village 'Hub' to give some idea about options, time frames and costs can be obtained here

Local Shop - The old service station in the main street has been bought by the Community Council and planning permission applied to extend the kiosk and produce a shop. The designs are all complete, but due to potential contamination from the old fuel tanks, the project is on hold pending a report from Scottish Borders Council.  You can view the plans by clicking the links below:

Houndwood Walk - This natural river walk at Houndwood will be expanded and enhance. This land was gifted to the community as part of the A1 development. Some enthusiastic Volunteers have put a vast amount of effort into improving the walk. There is huge potential for the area and in partnership with Borders Forest Trust there is an aim to develop it further this year with a set of programmes that covers bat watching, wildlife and tree planting. Path To Harelawside - The path from Grantshouse village runs beside the A1 trunk road and a risk assessment has highlighted that it is a dangerous configuration. Transport Scotland, BEAR and SBC agree and we are progressing ideas that will make the situation safer - click here to see a copy of the risk assessment.
